Driver fleeing deputies crashes into SUV

Assistant Chief Michael Gunther, January 16

A vehicle crashed into an SUV Thursday after fleeing law enforcement. The accident occurred at the intersection of Big Oak Church Road and Highway 24/27, between Eagle Springs and Robbins shortly after 3 p.m.

State Highway Patrol reported Moore County Deputies were in pursuit of a black BMW when the driver crossed the intersection slamming into a white SUV.

Structure Fire in Carthage

West End Fire Department responded to a Structure Fire in Carthage early Thursday morning with Tanker 616 and 655. The structure was fully involved and required a lot of water to extinguish. The West End Fire and Rescue hosted the Moore County Vietnam Veterans Chapter 966 Field of Honor for the second year in a row from November 3rd to the 16th. In 2015 there were 100 flags and today there are more than 400 flags flying proudly.

On the evening of October 27th West End Fire and Rescue responded to assist Eagle Springs Fire Department with a working Structure Fire on Saw Grass Road.
