Pedestrian struck while working on road side sign for West End Methodist Church

A pedestrian was airlifted to an area trauma center after he was struck by a car while working on a church sign in West End on Sunday. The accident occurred on Highway 211 by the intersection of Highway 73 around 3:30 p.m.

The Moore County Landmark Pik-n-Pig Destroyed In Fire

The Pik-n-Pig restaurant in Carthage was destroyed by fire early Sunday morning. Reportedly, a resident of the RV park saw the fire and called 911 around 4 a.m.

Carthage Fire Chief Brian Tyner said when they arrived on the scene, 75% of the structure was on fire with smoke and flames showing. No one was injured in the fire.

Human remains found on Murdocksville Road

Human remains were found on Murdocksville Road near Eastwood community Sunday morning. The remains were located off the shoulder of the road near a bridge, just north of River Woods Road.

Moore County Sheriff Ronnie Fields said the remains are unidentifiable as of now. The side of the road was taped off as crime scene investigators worked the area.

No Caption Woman injured in fiery crash in Pinebluff

A woman was injured in a fiery crash in Pinebluff on Thunder Road Tuesday night. The crash occurred about two miles down Thunder Road from U.S. Highway 1 at 9:40 p.m. A caller on the scene advised emergency dispatchers the driver was out of the pickup truck, but the truck was on fire.

Man Dies While Working On A Truck

A tragic accident in the West End area of Moore County has left a man dead Monday evening. Emergency units were dispatched to a home in the 500 block of Lucas Road after a family member called 911 and reported a large truck had fallen on the man, and he was trapped under it.

The first units on the scene found the unresponsive man trapped under a flatbed truck. He was confirmed deceased shortly after.

No Caption Structure Fire just outside Seven Lakes

A home located at the corner of Dead Man Curve Road and Highway 211, outside of Seven Lakes, caught fire shortly after 12:30 p.m. Friday.

The occupants and their dogs were able to escape the fire unharmed.

The first fire units on the scene reported heavy flames and thick smoke showing from the single-story brick residence.

Car Crash on Thanksgiving

West End Fire and Rescue responded to a Motor Vehicle Accident on Hwy 73 on Thanksgiving.

A Honda CRV was traveling east on N.C. 73 when it lost control, crashed through a fence and ended up on its side against a tree approximately 40-60 feet off the road.

During the crash, a piece of the wood fence smashed through the windshield, barely missing the driver.
