| We visited the following;
📌West End Elementary on Tuesday, October 7th.
📌 West Pine Elementary on Wednesday, October 15th.
We take great pride in being able to teach the young students in our community and assist in the next generation of Firefighter/ EMTs
What did we talk about?
🔔 •The importance of smoke detectors homes and what to do when one goes off. Also the importance of a family meeting place.
🧯•The acronym “PASS” for a fire extinguisher operation “Pull. Aim. Squeeze. Sweep”
💨🏠🔥 •Stay Low & Go and Get Out, Stay Out.
👨🏼🚒👩🏼🚒 •Each presentation was concluded by firefighters demonstrating donning PPE in a “quick dress” state if an emergency call was made.
🚒The students were given a tour of Engine 611, Heavy Rescue 619 and Squad 61 to allow them to visualize what all equipment is carried when they see a fire truck and to allow them to ask questions about the fire truck, and to walk through the fire truck.
🫱🏼🫲🏽We appreciate the opportunity to serve the community and visitors and we look forward to seeing the children next year!! Stay safe! |
