With Tropical Storm Florence upon us the West End Fire Department will be fully staffed and we will help in anyway we can. The best thing that can be done is to stay where you are and stay off the roads unless it is absolutely necessary. Here is a list of resources that will be helpful to you.

The "ReadyNC" app available for iPhone's and Android phones is a great mobile resource to have to keep up to date information. They have information about Weather, Road Conditions, Power Outages and Open Shelters just to name a few.

SHELTER INFORMATION

For anybody that needs a shelter, please see the below information. There are 2 shelters available.
SHELTER 1
WHERE: Moore County Agricultural Building, 707 Pinehurst Avenue, Carthage, NC 28327
STATUS: ***FULL***
PETS: Dogs and cats will only be accepted for people being accommodated at the shelter. Animals will be housed in areas separate from the general population.

SHELTER 2
WHERE: 1504 North Moore Rd, Robbins, NC 27325
STATUS: OPEN NOW
PETS: This facility does NOT accept pets.
