| West End Fire and Rescue hosted a Driver Operator Basic Pumps class this past week. This Class was open to Firefighters from all over Moore County and the neighboring Counties.
D/O Basic Pumps is the starting point for any firefighter that will be driving and operating the fire pump. The students learned how to get water from different sources like hydrants, ponds or drop tanks to the pump and than how to get that water to the firefighter to fight the fire. They also learned proper pump settings for the utilization of foam applications and how using foam assists them in putting out the fire. |
