According to Moore County Sheriff's Department Chief Deputy Frank Rodriguez the emergency dispatch center received numerous calls Sunday from concerned parents over a threat warning that had reportedly been posted on social media over a planned shooting at Pinecrest High School. There were numerous post on social media sites across Moore County Sunday about the alleged threat with many parents stating they would be keeping their children home from school on Monday, while others tried to encourage calm while authorities did their job and determined what has occurred. Rodriguez stated that as of Sunday evening deputies with the Moore County Sheriff’s Department along with Chief Fry and officers with the Moore County Schools Police were actively investigating this reported threat to ensure the safety of our children. We are monitoring this situation and will update readers if additional information needs to be shared with the public. UPDATE: Moore County Schools notified students by telephone and posted a brief statement about the reported threat late Sunday night to say that there would be an increased security presence at the school on Monday, however after the initial investigation it was believed that the threat was not credible.
