A member of West End Fire and Rescue graduated from the Sandhills Fire Academy. Ashley Bloom was one of eight that graduated last night from Sandhills Fire Academy class 9. This academy started in June 2017 and there last day of class was Tuesday Dec 12th 2017. Over the past 6 months they were trained in all of the aspects of firefighting, rescue and medical care. This Academy is very high paced and has a great reputation throughout the state. The firefighters that graduate from this academy are highly sought after for employment with fire stations throughout the state. Firefighter Bloom has successfully completed her Firefighter I&II, HazMat, NC EMT and Technical Rescuer Certification.

The final step that transitions a Fire Cadet to a Firefighter is to have there station badge pinned on there uniform. Firefighter Ashley Bloom was pinned with her West End Fire and Rescue badge by Captain Padgent from Southern Pines Fire Department.

The Board of Directors, Officers and Members of West End Fire and Rescue are very proud of Firefighter Ashley Bloom and the rest of the Firefighters that graduated from the Academy.
