Five people were transported to Moore Regional Hospital with non-life threatening injuries following a two vehicle accident on Sunday evening.

The incident occurred approximately one-half mile from N.C. 211 on Hoffman Road. A silver Ford Frontier with a single occupant struck a Toyota Tundra truck occupied by a male driver and three children.

The initial call for emergency services was sent at 7:10 p.m. of a possible vehicle entrapment.

West End Fire Rescue Chief Erik Stromberg said, in addition to his station, responding agencies included Pinehurst Fire, Moore County EMS, Moore County Sheriff’s Office and State Police responded.

Stromberg said extraction tools were required to free the driver of the Toyota. He reported both vehicles had been traveling in a northbound direction when the front truck initiated a turn to a side road.

An eyewitness immediately following the accident said a Mountaire Farms feed truck was the first vehicle to come upon the scene. The Mountaire driver provided first aid until WEFR and Moore EMS arrived.

Hoffman Road was reopened to vehicle traffic at 8:30 p.m.
