West End Fire and Rescue was dispatched to motor vehicle accident at approximately 6:30 p.m.. The initial report was that there was a vehicle on the train tracks.

First arriving units found a single vehicle with heavy damage on the train tracks. Witnesses at the scene stated that the driver walked away and he was not in the general vicinity when the fire department and law enforcement arrived.

Aberdeen, Carolina and Western Railway was contacted for inspection of the tracks and surrounding area for any damage.

West End Fire and Rescue remained on scene until the car and all debris was removed from the train tracks.
